Cannabis: Why You Need It In Your Life

Updated: Dec 13, 2021

Cannabis affects people in different ways. It depends on the person, situation, type and quality of cannabis, and the method of use.

Research shows that most people who use cannabis use it moderately. Since it has a low risk of addiction / dependency, most people decide to use it as needed when perceived to be beneficial and effective to their overall well-being.

That is why more people should know the great benefits of cannabis as it’s proven to have improved many aspects of one’s life.

In this blog, we’ll be discussing how cannabis is essential in the social, medical, and spiritual aspect of a person.

Social Use

The social use of cannabis revolves around recreation, socializing, and generally improving the quality of life. Most people who use cannabis today do so because of this reason.

Historical records also confirm the social use of cannabis. Ancient Hindus in India were incorporating social cannabis use in their daily lives. At ancient Indian weddings, cannabis (bhang) was served for good luck as a sign of hospitality.

In Ancient Rome, wealthy people finished banquets with cannabis-seed dessert that was known for the good feeling it caused.

Today, people often use cannabis for specific activities and occasions. When used properly, it helps some to relax and concentrate, making many activities more enjoyable.

Cannabis, used socially, often becomes incorporated into a person’s daily routine without negative, health, social, legal or economic consequences. It has truly shown an improvement in the way they live their lives, just the way others use coffee.

Medical Use

Like people who use cannabis for social reasons, people who use cannabis for medical reasons also use it to improve their quality of life. Medical use is linked to managing physical and mental problems.

Cannabis has been used medically for thousands of years. In 2700 BCE, Shen Neng, Chinese Emperor and father of Chinese Medicine, used cannabis as a remedy. The Ebers Papyrus, an ancient Egyptian Medical Text in 1500 BCE, also mentions cannabis.

Today, cannabis is used to treat many medical conditions and symptoms. It is effective in treating nausea, loss of appetite, pain, anxiety, insomnia, inflammation, and muscle spasms.

Spiritual Use

Spiritual well-being is widely accepted as an important part of overall health.

Spiritual use of cannabis relates to seeking a sense of meaning, enlightenment, and connection.

Cannabis has a rich history of spiritual use. It’s listed as one of the five holy plants in the Atharveda, a sacred Indian text. Ancient Europe also used cannabis at funerals to pay respects to departed leaders. Chinese texts say that cannabis can also enlighten a person’s body.

Today, some people use cannabis in their practice, using it in their religious ceremonies. Other people use it in ways that they consider spiritual, such as reflection, contemplation, and personal growth.

The relaxing effects of cannabis help people gain different perspectives and increase appreciation for connection and bond.
